Meditation

Meditation does not only have to be a 20-30 minute period of your day. This is just one form of meditation. Meditation is no good if when we come out of it we return to our habitual thinking and unconscious thought patterns, and some of us have too hectic of lives to meditate all day. Here's the good news.

Meditation can also be a small 10 second moment of consciousness, and these mini-meditations can be had all throughout the day to induce present moment awareness. Let's have one together right now.

Stop what you're doing. Take a few deep conscious breaths, and take a few seconds to silence the stream of thinking. Stop thinking. Don't think about not thinking, just do it. Feel the energy system in middle of the body and observe the breath. A new dimension of consciousness is not awake within you, and this awareness or "presence" is deeper than thinking. You can do this in the shower, at work, shopping, anywhere you want. It only has to be for 10-15 seconds, and this will give you more presence in your days.

Bringing awareness to the present moment several times a day will improve your sense of peace and make you instantly less anxious. Make a habit out of it if you can:) Conscious breaths, silence the mind, bring the awareness away from thought back to the Now.
